TidyWallet, an honest personal finance ledger

TidyWallet is a personal finance app for Android — cash accounts, credit cards, transactions, budgets, and the metals and crypto you hold, all rolled into a single net-worth view. No account with me, no server of mine holding your ledger. It's out now on Google Play, and this is a first look at what it does.
Every account, in order
Checking, savings, credit cards, gold, silver, and whatever crypto you're holding — TidyWallet puts all of it on one screen, converted into whichever currency you set up with. You choose your main currency once, and price history is kept in it from then on, so it isn't a setting you can quietly change later and have the past reprice itself.

Budgets that can't lie
A budget in TidyWallet only ever sees what you actually spent. Transfers between your own accounts never count — moving money into gold isn't spending it — and a gain on a sale is never counted as income, so you can't "earn" your way to a healthy month by selling the thing you were saving. Over-budget categories get their own group at the top of the screen instead of a red number you have to go looking for, and what's left to spend is allowed to go negative rather than stop at zero, because a clamped number hides how far over you actually are.

Metals, crypto, and a price that shows its age
Every quote — gold, silver, platinum, palladium, or crypto — comes with how old it is and where it came from, so a price you typed in by hand is never confused with one fetched a minute ago. Cost basis, unrealized gain, and realized gain are kept as three separate numbers rather than folded into one figure that would quietly bury which part of your gain you've actually banked.

Your data, in files you control
Export your ledger as CSV for a spreadsheet or a tax return, as a PDF statement per account, or as a full encrypted backup you can restore from later. Backup to your own Google Drive is there if you want it — opt-in, it asks every time, and it goes to a folder in your Drive that only the app can see. Leave it off and everything simply stays on the device.
Where it is today
TidyWallet is out on Google Play. It's built in Kotlin and Compose, keeps everything on the device by default, and takes its prices from CoinGecko and metals.dev. There's still no signup, because there's no account to create. You can see the full set of screens on the TidyWallet project page.
TidyWallet is a CraftedPxl project. You can install it from Google Play, and if something in it looks wrong, get in touch.
